5 Signs Your Perth Business Website Is Losing You Customers

Your Perth business website might look fine to you and be quietly losing customers every day. The signs are often invisible to the business owner because you know the site, you know where everything is, and you've stopped seeing it through the eyes of someone visiting for the first time. Here are the five warning signs we most commonly find when Perth businesses ask us to audit their website.
Warning signs 1–5
1. It loads slowly. Google's research shows that 53% of mobile users abandon a site that takes more than three seconds to load. Run your site through Google PageSpeed Insights and see your score. Anything below 70 on mobile is costing you customers.
2. The contact details are hard to find. If a Perth customer has to search more than two clicks to find your phone number or contact form, most won't bother. Your phone number should be in the header of every page.
3. It doesn't explain what you do clearly above the fold. The first thing a visitor sees before scrolling should answer three questions: what do you do, where do you do it, and why should I trust you? If your hero section is a generic stock photo and a vague tagline, visitors leave.
4. It doesn't work properly on mobile. With more than 70% of Perth searches happening on phones, a site that requires pinching, zooming, or horizontal scrolling is unacceptable. Test your site on an actual iPhone and Android device, not just a browser resizing tool.
5. It has no social proof. Reviews, testimonials, client logos, case study results. Some form of social proof should appear on your homepage. Perth customers who can't quickly see evidence that other people trust you will default to the competitor who has that evidence on display.
